WOODSTOCK – Marian Central’s girls volleyball team had gone to the limit in three of its first five matches of the season.

LAKEWOOD – Caelan Murphy and J.B. Garoufalis tied for medalist honors Thursday in Crystal Lake Central’s 157-167 Fox Valley Conference boys golf win against Grayslake Central at Turnberry Country Club.

CARY – Coming into the McHenry County Junior Golf Association’s Cary Open on Wednesday, no golfer has shot an under-par round on the year.
Hampshire High School’s Taylor Ellett and sister Connie Ellett finished first and second, respectively, in the IJGA-CDGA Junior Amateur that concluded Thursday at Mill Creek in Geneva. The two-day, 36-hole event is co-sanctioned by the Illinois Junior Golf Association and the Chicago District Golf Association.
ALGONQUIN – Participants in the McHenry County Junior Golf Association GCI Open had to compete against the hot, humid conditions in addition to one another Wednesday at the Golf Club of Illinois.
MARENGO – Danielle Roulo shot a 57 on Monday in the Marengo Ridge Open junior girls division to win her second consecutive McHenry County Junior Golf Association event.
HARVARD – On Monday, Luke Waggoner played in the McHenry County Junior Golf Association’s McHenry Open at McHenry Country Club.
McHENRY – Luke Waggoner, coming off a ninth-place finish Thursday in the Illinois Junior Golf Association’s Prairie Isle Regional, began play in Monday’s McHenry County Junior Golf Association McHenry Open looking to improve on that finish.
McHENRY – Katlyn Anderberg’s high school golf career at Huntley didn’t end the way she had envisioned, or with her in perfect health for that matter.
Taylor and Connie Ellett didn’t think there could be a better way to kick off their summer than with one of the more difficult golf tournaments the sisters could find.
HAMPSHIRE – One of Hampshire coach Sue Ellett’s goals is to make both of her golfing daughters, Connie and Taylor, feel the same about the sport and to feel the same excitement.

CARBONDALE – Hampshire sophomore Connie Ellett shot an 8-over-par 80 Saturday for a 160 total to earn All-State honors with a 25th-place finish in the IHSA Class AA Girls Golf State Tournament at Hickory Ridge.
ROCKFORD – Hampshire sisters Connie and Taylor Ellett had one goal in mind for their second year together at the varsity golf level.
POPLAR GROVE – Richmond-Burton senior Bree Roberts nervously watched as the final groups’ scores were posted at the IHSA Class AA Belvidere North Regional.
WOODSTOCK – Andrew Hull made five saves in goal to record his ninth shutout this season in Marian Central’s 5-0 win against Vernon Hills in non-conference boys soccer action Monday.
WOODSTOCK – Crystal Lake Central’s girls golf team came into Wednesday’s Fox Valley Conference meet undefeated in conference play and the defending conference champions.
WOODSTOCK – Elise and Kayla Beattie finished first and second for Woodstock’s girls cross country team Tuesday in the four-team Woodstock Mega Meet at Emricson Park.
MARENGO – With matches against Burlington Central and Cary-Grove looming this week, Hampshire’s girls volleyball team easily could have looked past Marengo on Monday.
HARVARD – The Harvard girls volleyball team won its own invitational on Saturday with a 5-0 record.
CRYSTAL LAKE – The Prairie Ridge girls volleyball team survived a close first set, 25-21, then prevailed in the second set, 25-14, to beat the Johnsburg Skyhawks on Thursday and remain undefeated in the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division.
GENOA – The Hampshire girls golf program has been in existence for only three years. After winning their first regional last season, the Whip-Purs are looking for more.
CRYSTAL LAKE – Crystal Lake South’s girls volleyball team outlasted Huntley, 25-21, 25-20, in Fox Valley Conference Valley Division play Tuesday to remain undefeated in the division.
McHENRY – Prairie Ridge’s boys golf team defeated Johnsburg, 160-161, on Monday at Chapel Hill in a Fox Valley Conference dual meet with an ironic twist.
McHENRY – McHenry’s girls volleyball team gave Huntley a scare, but the Red Raiders proved to be too much Thursday in a three-set Fox Valley Conference Valley Division victory.
BULL VALLEY – Katelyn Horgan looked at the scoreboard when she finished her round Wednesday at the McHenry County Girls Golf Meet and couldn’t believe her eyes.
HARVARD – The Harvard boys golf team earned its first win of the season Wednesday with a 198-224, non-conference win against Round Lake at Plum Tree National.
BULL VALLEY – The Prairie Ridge girls golf team did not let Monday’s loss to Crystal Lake Central affect its play Tuesday at the McHenry County Meet at Boone Creek.
PRAIRIE GROVE – The Crystal Lake Central girls golf team remained undefeated in Fox Valley Conference play with a
DeKALB – Hampshire’s girls volleyball team continued its winning ways Saturday by claiming the DeKalb Invitational title with a 4-0 record.
BULL VALLEY – Stephanie Pettit’s 7-over-par 42 was the low round for the Marian Central girls golf team, which shot a 187 to beat McHenry (195) and Larkin (283) in a non-conference triangular Thursday at Boone Creek.
BULL VALLEY – The McHenry girls golf team used its overall depth to defeat Huntley, 200-201, in a tight Fox Valley Conference match Wednesday at Boone Creek.
CARY – The Cary-Grove volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2009 season with a decisive 25-22, 25-9 win against Harvard in non-conference play.
CARY – Cary-Grove’s volleyball team got a glimpse Thursday of what it might see this weekend at the Jacobs Golden Eagle Volleyball Invitational.
