NAPERVILLE – Prairie Ridge’s girls gymnastics team had an added degree of difficulty when defending state all-around champion Jenny Covers did not compete Saturday, but the Wolves won the five-team Neuqua Valley Invitational with 142.825 points.

HARVARD – Richmond-Burton’s girls basketball team saved its best against Harvard for the second half Tuesday.
WEST DUNDEE – Finding success continues to be a work in progress for the Huntley boys hockey team.

BARRINGTON – The Crystal Lake South hockey team came into Wednesday night’s Metro Central American Division showdown against second-place Barrington with something to prove.

LOMBARD – The Jacobs girls basketball team took fifth place Wednesday at the Montini Holiday Tournament with a 63-39 win against Chicago Marshall.

FOX LAKE– McHenry’s boys basketball team beat Lakes, 55-52, on Tuesday in dramatic fashion at the Grant Holiday Tournament. Josh McNaughton hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to propel the Warriors (6-3).
MACHENSEY PARK – Hampshire’s girls basketball team continued its dominance in the Harlem Holiday Tournament by taking the title with a convincing 66-20 victory against Sycamore in the championship game.

WOODSTOCK – McHenry came into Thursday’s wrestling dual meet with Woodstock North knowing it would be facing a young team in its first year of varsity competition.
RICHMOND – The Richmond-Burton wrestling team played the greedy host Saturday, edging second-place Marengo by six points to win the R-B Classic.
WOODSTOCK – The Fox Valley Conference Fox Division girls basketball opener didn’t start well for Woodstock on Friday, but the Blue Streaks had a surprise for Grayslake North in the second half.
CARY – Cary-Grove coach Dan Cysewski has liked what he has seen in practice from his wrestling team early this season.
WILMETTE – Aleecia Braun scored 12 points as Woodstock North’s girls basketball team lost to Loyola Academy, 68-38, on Wednesday in non-conference play.
FOX LAKE – Ian Sanchez ran a time of 15:57 to win Grant’s James “J.T.” Taylor Invitational on Saturday at Camp Henry Horner and lead Richmond-Burton to a second-place finish at the 12-team cross country meet.
ROCKFORD – Jacobs’ Scott Cahill shot a 1-under-par 71 on Saturday to tie for first place at the Rockford East Brad Frowler Invitational at Aldeen.
JOHNSBURG – With seven minutes to play, Tom Majewski scored the game-winning goal for the Johnsburg boys soccer team to beat Crystal Lake Central, 2-1, in a Fox Valley Conference Fox Division game Thursday.
Adam Newkirk has been playing hockey since he was 5 years old in hopes of one day putting himself in a position to play at least collegiate-level hockey.
CARY – The “C” on his Cary-Grove hockey jersey was not something Zack Wand requested.
