Local teams go 4 for 4
Wednesday was a good day for our local baseball and softball teams who were all playin’ in sectional semifinal games.
In baseball, Marian Central hung tough and outlasted St. Viator, 7-6 in 10 innin’s, while Huntley blasted Hononegah, 11-3. Both the ’Canes and the Red Raiders will play for a sectional title Saturday.

In softball, Marengo’s Amanda Hart came up with the game-winnin’ hit in the bottom of the seventh innin’ to get the Indians past The Ridge, 3-2.
The Wolves had rallied with two runs in the top of the seventh innin’ on a huge hit by Anna Patras, which tied the game at 2-all.
The Indians beat the Wolves by two runs during the regular season.
The Grove didn’t need drama in their win against Elgin. The Trojans spanked the Maroons, 6-0, and they just keep rollin’.
Both teams play Saturday for a chance at a sectional title.
