Good things can happen if ya don't give up
The great Yankees catcher Yogi Berra had a way with words, and he was dead-on when he said that “it ain’t over, till it’s over.”
The Crystal Lake South baseball team knows that better than anybody, after they came back from being down, 10-1 after five innings and for an 11-10 win against Jacobs on Friday.
Billy Wright cranked the game-winnin’ grand slam to put the Gators into Saturday’s Jacobs Regional championship game.

Rant’s also pullin’ for our local athletes at the Boys Track and Field State meet this weekend. It’s lookin’ good for Huntley’s Marcus Popenfoose, who says he won’t be happy unless he can be tops in the state from the discus circle. Go get ‘em Saturday, boys.

Finally, good luck to all the local teams who will be vyin’ for titles Saturday. Somebody’s gotta win the hardware and somebody’s gonna have some hard feelings, but that’s sports, gang. Leave it all on the field and there’s nothin’ more anybody can ask of ya.
