New football coaches named

Not long after Jacobs named Bill Mitz its new head football coach, CL Community has promoted sophomore coach Matt Fralick to its top spot.

For the Tigers it’s a somewhat safe move. The upside for the Tigers is that Fralick has been a part of the resurgent program as a sophomore coach and he should already have insight on the talent he will have on the field in the Fall. He also will already have relationships in place headin’ into summer camps and such.

The Eagles’ hirin’ of Mitz seems like a no-brainer. He has tons of experience and a real passion for the game. He knows plenty about McHenry County football and The Rant can only assume that he is pretty good with the talent he gets and his relations with these young men, given 28 season at Stevenson and 21 straight playoff appearances
