Huntley's Ali Andrews receives AP All-State honorable mention

Huntley's Ali Andrews, a 6-foot-2 sophomore forward, was named Class 4A All-State honorable mention by The Associated Press Wednesday.

Huntley's Ali Andrews was announced to The Associated Press Class 4A All-State Girls Basketball team as a honorable-mention selection.

The team had five first- and second-team players each, and Andrews, the Northwest Herald area scoring leader at 18.6 points a game, was one of the players receiving honorable mentions.

Andrews, a 6-foot-2 sophomore forward, helped the Red Raiders to the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division title and a regional title. She hit 76.9 percent at the free-throw line and made 34 3-pointers.

Andrews also reached a remarkable milestone in her career when she passed 1,000 points for her career, a rarity for players in their sophomore season.
