The Marian Central boys basketball team rode Adam Pischke's game-high 41 points in Wednesday's 77-65 win over visiting Guerin Prep.
The Hurricanes' sophomore guard had the range as he connected on eight 3-pointers and added four more baskets while going 9 of 12 from the free-throw line. Teammate Wyatt Lindell was also in double figures, scoring 14 points for the Hurricanes (16-15 overall).
Burlington Central 59, Hampshire 35: At Aurora, the Whip-Purs (12-15 overall) held an early 9-8 lead in the first quarter but couldn't hang on as their season ended with the loss in the Class 3A Aurora Central Catholic Regional semifinal.
The Whip-Purs were plagued by turnovers (10) in the first half which put the brakes on a comeback.
"We gave it our best effort in terms of attitude," Hampshire coach Mike Featherly said. "Just too many turnovers."
Peyton DeChant led Hampshire with 10 points.
