Roundup: Jacobs swimming beats Woodstock co-op

The Jacobs boys swimming team won a Fox Valley Conference dual meet Thursday against Woodstock co-op, 117-47, at Woodstock North.

Alex Reinbrecht won the 100-yard butterfly (56.17) and the 200 individual medley (2:05.12) to lead the Golden Eagles to victory. Francis Ogaban added victories in the 100 freestyle (50.06) and the 100 backstroke (58.11).

Carter Slack picked up the win in the 50 freestyle (24.02) and Jordan Anderson added a victory in the 200 freestyle (2:00.19) for Jacobs

Woodstock co-op was led by a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.46). Liam DeWane finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:05.56) and Joe Miceli added a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle (24.96).


Hampshire 47, Westminster Christian 43: At Elgin, the Whip-Purs came back from a third-quarter deficit to win in nonconference play. Hampshire outscored Westminster 11-3 in the fourth quarter to rally for the win. Emma Benoit led the Whip-Purs (10-18) with 26 points and Peyton DeChant added 14.

Alden-Hebron 55, Berean Baptist 36: At Hebron, Brooklyn Hilton scored 21 points with five rebounds and four steals to lead the Giants past Berean Baptist. Emily Webber added 14 points for A-H (11-9), which opens the playoffs at 6 p.m. Tuesday against South Beloit at the Class 1A Rockford Christian Life Regional.

Richmond-Burton 40, Marengo 27: At Marengo, Lauren Otto scored eight points to lead the Rockets (12-9, 5-4) to the Big Northern East Division victory. Sara Swanson scored seven points and Grace Schwegel added six.

Lynsey Hoeske led the Indians with eight points and Nikki Hammortree added seven.
