The Woodstock co-op boys bowling team held on to beat Marengo by a six-pin margin Monday, 2,792-2,786, at the Glo Bowl in Marengo.
Woodstock outscored Marengo, 911-895, in the match's final game to get the win.Tyler Busch led Woodstock with a 649 series and a high game of 245. Austin Luna was second on the team with a 575 series and Greg Rowan added a 563.
The Indians were led by Jake Barton, who bowled a 555 series. Dustin Termini rolled a 554 series, including a team-high score of 231. Mike Villarreal added a 552.
Johnsburg 2,644, Westminster Christian 2,598: At Elgin Lanes, the Skyhawks won in nonconference play. Evan Hitchcock led Johnsburg with a 619 series, including two games of 219. Zach Matejka added a 568 and Alex Anderson a 519.
Marengo 37, Genoa-Kingston 34: At Marengo, the Indians took an early lead and held on late to win in Big Northern Conference East Division play. Lynsey Hoeske led the Indians with 10 points, and Taylor Carlson added eight.
Alden-Hebron 41, IMSA 38: At Hebron, the Giants (6-7, 1-4 NAC) picked up their first Northeastern Athletic Conference win of the season. Brooklyn Hilton led the Giants with 15 points, and Jacqueline Walters added 11.
Barrington 2,280, Woodstock co-op 2,175: At Brunswick Zone in Deer Park, Woodstock lost in nonconference play. Samantha Kunke led the team with a 595 series and a team-high single-game score of 221. Rachel Lohmeyer added a 480 series.
Johnsburg 2,131, Westminster Christian 1,693: At Elgin Lanes, Kaitlyn Straulin bowled a 505 series, including a 231 game, to lead the Skyhawks to victory. Skylar Malcolm bowled a 421 series and Allison Boelter added a 418.
