The Marian Central boys basketball team defeated Montini, 78-67, in the Suburban Christian Conference matchup.
The Hurricanes (7-8, 2-1 SCC) led by 10 at the half and maintained that lead to claim the victory. Nick Waytula led the team with 18 points and Ben Schnepf added 17 points. Schnepf converted four 3-pointers and was 5-5 from the line.
Derreck Caldez and Matthew Ricchiuto each added eight points.
Burlington Central 60, Harvard 47: At Harvard, the Hornets lost in Big Northern Conference East Division play. Fernando Carrera led the team with 15 points and Justin Nolen added 12.
Burlington Central 51, Richmond-Burton 28: At Burlington, the Rockets (5-7, BNC 0-2) lost for the second time in BNC East Division play. Hannah Koenig led the team with nine points and six rebounds and Jessica Guenther added seven points.
Rockford Christian 52, Marengo 33: At Rockford, the Indians fell in BNC East Division play. Nicole Johnston scored 10 points and Taylor Carlson added seven.
Harvard Dual: At Harvard, the Hornets (14-4) defeated Sycamore, 33-30 and Wauconda, 50-22, to go 2-0. Harvard was led by Justin Wilcox (106/113 pounds), Christian Kramer (145), Matt Wheeler (160) and Adam Freimund (285) all going undefeated. Wilcox and Freimund won both their matches by pins, while Wheeler and Kramer won crucial decisions in the Sycamore match.
Belvidere Quad: At Belvidere, Huntley went 3-0 at the quad with wins against Belvidere, 62-6, Waukegan, 64-12, and Rockford East, 58-16. The Red Raiders (13-1) were led by Josh Stenger (106), Nick Meyer (113), Ricky Vigil (126) and Dominic Swanson (220) all going undefeated.
Richmond-Burton Quad: At Richmond, Woodstock went 1-2 at the meet with its lone win coming against Richmond-Burton, 33-19. The Blue Streaks lost, 36-22, to Kaneland and, 53-24 to Mundelein. Nick Sundberg (152), Ryan Plourde (160) and Alex Johnson all went 3-0 on the day.
The Rockets lost their other two matches at the quad, 45-24, to Mundelein and to Kaneland, 39-16. Gavin Sutton (113) and Garrett Sutton (160) both went undefeated for Richmond-Burton.
Crystal Lake Central 54, Woodstock North 18: At Woodstock, the Tigers were victorious in the FVC Fox match. Michael Peterson (126) won a, 4-1 decision and Kyle Fugiel won with a fall in 45 seconds to lead Crystal Lake Central.
Woodstock North forfeited seven matches at the meet. Gerardo Ortiz (120) and Jesse Cordoba (138) both picked up wins for the Thunder.
