Cary-Grove’s Katie Barker scored 34 points Wednesday to lead the Trojans to a 64-44 Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win over host McHenry.
Barker shot 9 of 14 from the field and 5 of 9 from 3-point range. She even led the Trojans with three rebounds.
Abby Gaysher and Karisa Wilczynski each added six points for the Trojans (7-4, 2-2 FVC Valley). Sarah Kendeigh finished with six assists.
The Warriors (2-8, 0-3) were led by Greta Taylor’s 13 points. Sophomore Alex Martens added 10.
Prairie Ridge 54, Marian Central 46: At Woodstock, Kelly Klendworth scored 15 points to lead the Wolves (6-3) to victory in the nonconference game. Maddie Drain scored 14 points, and Sarah Le Beau added 12 in the win.
The Hurricanes (4-3) were led by Sarah Benigni’s 22 points.
CL South 67, Jacobs 47: At Crystal Lake, Rachel Rasmussen scored 18 points to lead the Gators (6-4, 2-1) in the FVC Valley win. Chanel Fanter scored 14 points, and Sara Mickow added 11 in the win.
Jacobs (2-8, 1-2) was led by Jennifer Barnec, who finished with 16 points. Carly Sidor scored 11 points and had six rebounds.
Marengo 43, Harvard 35: At Marengo, the Indians held on to claim the Big Northern Conference East Division victory over the Hornets. Kassidy Grimscheid finished with 11 points to lead Marengo (2-6, 1-1).
Makenna Powell scored 14 points to lead Harvard (0-6, 0-3).
Richmond-Burton 54, Woodstock 51 (OT): At Richmond, Sara Swanson scored 11 points to lead the Rockets (2-4) to the overtime nonconference victory against Woodstock (3-3). Lauren Otto and Abby Straight each added 10 points in the win. Straight led the team with 12 rebounds and three assists.
McHenry 3,423, Johnsburg 2,705: At Raymond’s Bowl in Johnsburg, the Warriors (9-0) remained undefeated with a victory over the Skyhawks. Kody Hudjera bowled a 707 series, with his lowest scoring game a 201, to lead McHenry. Steve Churchill bowled a 279 high game for the Warriors, part of his 688 series.
Evan Hitchcock bowled a 588 series and 222 high game to lead Johnsburg. Joey Flack added a 574 series.
Harvard Duals: At Harvard, the Hornets (10-3) went 1-1 on the day with a 63-15 victory over Boylan and a 36-30 loss to Byron. Matt Wheeler (170) won both of his matches. Isaiah Rudd (160) also won both of his matches, by pin, with neither match lasting longer than four minutes.
CL Central Duals: At Crystal Lake, Cary-Grove claimed a 36-35 victory over Crystal Lake Central. C-G also defeated Kaneland, 39-24. Emerson Kersten (170), Matt Hughes (152) and Sean Cullen (126) won both of their matches for the Trojans.
Mike Zelasco (182) and Andrew Marsden (195) of Crystal Lake Central each won their matches against Cary-Grove.
