Roundup: Richmond-Burton golfer Jordan Hahn headed to state

Richmond-Burton junior Jordan Hahn shot a 74 on Monday in the Class 2A Freeport Sectional at Park Hills in Freeport to qualify for the state tournament for the first time. Hahn missed qualifying for state by one stroke each of the past two years.

Noah Radwanski also qualifed for state, shooting a 77 for Marian Central's first state qualifier in two years. The Hurricanes took fourth as a team, falling two strokes shy of qualifying as a team.

Marengo's Hunter Simonini also qualifed for state, shooting a 78.

The 2A state tournament is Friday and Saturday at Weibring in Normal.

BOYS SOCCER

Prairie Ridge 4, Woodstock 2: At Crystal Lake, Austin Marconi scored two goals with Mike Perhats adding a goal and an assist for the Wolves (5-9-2) in their FVC crossover win over the Blue Streaks (6-13-1).

GIRLS TENNIS

Spirit of Northwest Tournament: At Huntley, the Red Raiders took first with three champions: Emma Breen (No. 2 singles), Pooja Patel and Venecia Alvarez (No. 2 doubles) and Katie Gallegos and Alicia Pietramale (No. 3 doubles).

Johnsburg took second with Tiffany Maggioncalda (No. 1 singles) taking first. Marengo took sixth with a fourth-place finish from Caitlyn Nakoneczny (No. 2 singles).

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Amboy Invitational: Johnsburg took eighth, led by a 14th-place finish by Matt Stelmasek and a 29th-place finish by Jake Grimes. Winnebago won the event.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Amboy Invitational: Delaney Pruitt took 36th for Johnsburg, as the Skyhawks finished 23rd of 33 teams. Wheaton Academy won the event.
