Whips’ Van Dorin 3rd in Queen of Hill

Hampshire junior Jessie Van Dorin, a day after winning the Class 3A title in the IHSA Three-Point Showdown, finished third Saturday in the Queen of the Hill finals at Redbird Arena in Normal.

The Queen of the Hill pits champions from each of the four classes. Van Dorin made nine of her 15 shots, but Class 2A winner Allie Norton of Bloomington Central Catholic won, hitting 12 shots. Class 4A champion Haley Stercic of Chicago Marist made 10 shots, and Class 1A champion Kelsey Herridge made eight.
