R-B girls drop Harvard

HARVARD – Richmond-Burton’s girls basketball team saved its best against Harvard for the second half Tuesday.

Down by one at halftime, the Rockets outscored the Hornets by
19 points in the final two quarters to earn a 50-32 Big Northern Conference East Division victory.

Erin Thomas hit three three-pointers and led the Rockets (8-7 overall, 4-1 BNC East) with 12 points, all in the second half, and Alex Callahan added 10 points.

Emily Scott led the Hornets (3-16, 0-5) with 16 points.

North Boone 42, Marengo 34: At Poplar Grove, the Indians (6-10, 1-3) lost to the Vikings in the BNC East matchup after being outscored, 21-10, in the second half.

Beth DeGrand scored nine points, all on three-pointers, to lead Marengo.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Wauconda 33, Marengo 28: At Marengo, Zack Lundquist scored 13 points for the Indians
(2-12) in their non-conference loss. Lundquist hit three three-pointers.

Mooseheart 56, Alden-Hebron 37: At Moose-heart, the Giants (4-9, 1-3) lost a Northeastern Athletic Conference game to the Red Ramblers.

Jared Hilton led Alden-Hebron with 11 points, and Alex Arthur had 10.

WRESTLING

Alden-Hebron Triangular: At Hebron, the Giants lost to Aurora Central Catholic, 30-29, and to Walther Lutheran, 54-16.

A-H’s Tyler Henken (135 pounds) recorded pins in both of his matches, Jeremy Gricar had a pin and a technical fall at 130, and Pat Hooper won by major decision and received a forfeit at 189.

Oregon Triangular: At Oregon, the Indians
(10-3) defeated Oregon, 47-17, but lost to Sterling Newman, 34-25.
