Christine Schumacher

Hampshire, senior, forward

Schumacher scored three hat tricks last week and two this week to put her on pace for 25 goals this season. Schumacher scored both of her team’s goals in a 2-0 victory against Illinois Math and Science Academy on Monday and had a hat trick against Burlington Central to help Hampshire win the Big Northern Conference East Division title.

Top-seeded Huntley has its sights set on the program’s first appearance in the state finals, but the fifth-seeded Golden Eagles would like to avenge their early-season loss to the Raiders.

4 p.m. Tuesday

Cary-Grove vs. CL South

Second-seeded C-G and the third-seeded Gators battled in both of their Fox Valley Conference Valley Division matches with the Trojans winning the first, 1-0, and the second, 1-0, in overtime and a penalty-kick shootout.

IHSA Class 2A Burlington Central Regional semifinal,

5 p.m. Tuesday

CL Central vs. Burlington Central or Marengo

Fourth-seeded Marengo and fifth-seeded Burlington play in today’s quarterfinal to determine which team will advance to face the top-seeded Tigers on Tuesday.

7 p.m. Tuesday

Hampshire vs. Kaneland

Second-seeded Hampshire is no stranger to the postseason; the Whip-Purs finished runners-up the past two seasons in the former Class A state tournament. Another run to the state finals is on Hampshire players’ to-do list.
